Why We Give

Language opens doors, connects cultures, and shapes futures.

For one Yu Ying family, this belief runs deep—so deep that a grandparent is making a generous gift to support the school that has meant so much to their family.

"My father is making this gift because he knows how much his grandchildren, and their parents, love Yu Ying. But he’s also giving because he understands firsthand the life-changing impact of language immersion.
Growing up in Cairo in the 1930s, he attended an English-speaking school, an opportunity that later allowed him to move to the U.S. in the 1960s, where he met my mother—and the rest is history. His experience shaped his life, and he wants to help give Yu Ying students the same opportunities."
