Welcome to Washington Yu Ying! It is with great excitement and commitment as Executive Director, that I get to lead this vibrant community.

My journey with Yu Ying began as a parent and supporter of our school's PA-led events, from the lively Lunar New Year Celebration to the fantastic KidFest. Before Yu Ying, I served as the Chief of Staff for the DC Deputy Mayor of Education and worked closely on initiatives aimed at supporting the DC community.

My passion for education began teaching elementary and middle school students after graduating from Georgetown University. I served as the Founding Principal at Excel Academy Public Charter School and later witnessed the transformative power of community engagement as principal at DC Scholars Stanton Elementary. 
‍
In July 2022, I joined the incredible Yu Ying team, leading the school through an exciting period of growth. Today, we are officially operating as a two-campus school, with our Early Years Campus providing a dedicated home for our youngest learners in PK3 through Kindergarten and our Elementary Campus continuing to thrive for Grades 1-5 at 220 Taylor Street. This expansion allows us to deepen our mission of providing a world-class, immersive dual language education rooted in the International Baccalaureate framework.

I am passionate about bringing communities together to solve complex challenges. I am deeply committed to each and every one of our students and families at Yu Ying.
