– Assistant Principal

Yu Ying is an amazing and challenging place to work. All staff on the Yu Ying team develop an ability to cut through the problems and to think with long-term solutions in mind. With children’s needs always at the forefront in every decision, the education staff is constantly working to improve their practices and to ensure the school is a great place to learn and grow for all of the community. Yu Ying is a learning community!
– Director of Teaching and Learning

During the time that I have been working in Washington Yu Ying, I have received support from many aspects. Our administrators offer advice to help me making improvement and progress. They are like five libraries, showing you different materials, teaching resources, and knowledge that you are longing for and can possibly think of. Their advice and suggestion makes me feel supported and appreciated. Meanwhile, my co-workers are like my friends and mentors. They are always ready to offer a helping hand, listening ears, and warm hugs for your ups and downs.

In Washington Yu Ying, it shows you career growth three-dimensional. It invites your ideas and action to make our school better; it offers you leadership opportunities to constantly challenge yourself and help others; it brings in exciting moments, such as teaching with Michelle Obama, performing with the Chinese National Orchestra, and so forth, to enrich your life.

Washington Yu Ying is like a family. It gives you support and warmth.
– Lead Teacher

I love kids and I want to help them know more about the world. I believe immersion is the most effective way to help younger kids learn a second language and I love the idea to lead kids inquiry. Yu Ying is just a great combination of these two ideas. It is challenging but worth of trying and efforts.
– Lead Teacher

The leadership and management are really supportive, understanding and flexible, which makes both your work life and personal life much easier.
– Business Associate

I like working at Yu Ying because of its mission and vision. And it is a great place for me to learn and grow as a good educator in the global context.
– Chinese Program Coordinator

Yu Ying is a truly special place to work and learn! As teachers, we get to collaborate with our dedicated and passionate colleagues to grow ourselves as educators. We are supported by our administration who provide us with exceptional professional development, often on the cutting edge of educational theory and philosophy. We also have the amazing gift of providing a truly progressive learning environment to our students. The International Baccalaureate program guides us to focus our teaching on inquiry and hands on, student centered learning. Our students will be the leaders of tomorrow because they are learning to think critically, be compassionate, and communicate in English and Mandarin!
